Professor Osaki discussed measures recommended by the Financial System Council Working Group on the Provision of Risk Moneys to New and Growth Enterprises in December 2013, including facilitating smooth financing of listed companies by shortening the waiting period for public offerings, and streamlining the large shareholder reporting regime for the benefit of issuers as well as investors. He also covered the discussions on the framework for public offerings at various working groups at the JSDA and the TSE.

Professor Osaki will discuss measures recommended by the Financial System Council Working Group on the Provision of Risk Moneys to New and Growth Enterprises in December 2013, including facilitating smooth financing of listed companies by shortening the waiting period for public offerings, and streamlining the large shareholder reporting regime for the benefit of issuers as well as investors. He will also cover the discussions on the framework for public offerings at various working groups at the JSDA and the TSE.

 

Professor Osaki studies capital markets in Japan and abroad from a regulatory point of view. In addition to his research work at NRI, he gives lectures on securities regulation as a visiting professor at the Graduate School for Law and Politics at the University of Tokyo. He has been a member of several government bodies, such as the Financial System Council (FSA) and participates in discussions of regulatory reforms in SROs such as the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the Japan Securities Dealers Association.

 

This workshop is organized by the University of Tokyo, Program on Global Securities Market Law. The program is led by Professor Hideki Kanda and Professor Hiroyuki Kansaku of the University of Tokyo and supported by Visiting Professors (Mr. Matsuo of Nishimura & Asahi and Mr. Osaki of Nomura Research Institute).
