Last week, IBA Japan had the pleasure of hosting a webinar featuring Shintaro ("Shin") Yamaguchi Yamaguchi, Partner, and Nancy Kong, Director, of PwC Tax Japan, who provided an exceptionally insightful and forward-looking presentation on OECD Pillar Two and Japan’s 2025 tax reform.
Shin and Nancy guided members through the complexities of global Pillar Two implementation, including Japan’s positioning, expected local impacts, and the implications of recent U.S. legislative developments such as Section 899. Their commentary on the current international tax landscape and the strategic role of Japan-based teams in global compliance provided members with a nuanced and practical perspective.
With deep technical expertise and a clear, accessible delivery, they helped demystify a rapidly evolving area of international tax with direct relevance for financial institutions operating across borders.
We are sincerely grateful for their time and thoughtful engagement, and we thank all attendees for joining this timely and highly relevant session.
