IBA Japan launches new Overseas Members/Preparation Company membership

IBA Japan is pleased to announce the launch of a new membership category for foreign financial institutions considering entry into the Japanese market.

Established in 1984, IBA Japan is the only association in Japan representing the foreign financial community across the investment chain, including Banking, Securities, and Asset Management. With over 125 member firms, the Association continues to grow, bringing together the vast majority of foreign financial institutions operating in Japan under a broad range of business models and market activities.

The new Overseas Member category comes in response to increasing interest from overseas institutions exploring opportunities in Japan and is designed as a facilitator and accelerator for financial firms not yet established in the country, that are considering entering the market and seek practical information on:
• Regulatory frameworks and market rules
• Ongoing regulatory and policy developments
• Operational and market-entry considerations
• Industry best practices from experienced institutional practitioners

The IBA looks forward to welcoming new international participants and supporting their engagement in one of the world’s most important markets.
