Summary:

We are delighted to welcome Mr. Hiroshi Ozaki, Director of the AML/CFT Policy Office, at the Financial Services Agency (“FSA”) who will be speaking to us about AML/CFT issues. 

Mr. Ozaki will speak about issues including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Results of the FATF mutual evaluation of Japan and Japan’s Three-year Action Plan
  • Cross-border money laundering cases and typologies
  • Finding from the recent inspections

Speaker:

Mr. Hiroshi Ozaki, Director of the AML/CFT Policy Office, FSA

Mr. Ozaki graduated from the University of Tokyo with a Bachelor of Economics degree. In 1988, he joined the SMBC (then Mitsui Bank) and worked globally (in New York, London, Dubai, etc.) He was also on secondment to the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Embassy in the US). Then, he headed up SMBC’s AML/CFT team before joining the FSA in 2018, as Director of the AML/CFT Policy Office. Mr. Ozaki holds an MBA from The Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University and is a Certified AML Specialist (CAMS).
