IBA Japan’s primary purpose is to promote the interests of our members. The development of a successful and socially responsible Japanese society is critical for the economic and social success of Japan and therefore for our members. Some of our members already have internal or participate in external volunteer programs. Hands On Tokyo provides another option for “giving back” through participation in their various initiatives.

Summary:

At Hands On Tokyo, we dream for a society where each individual is valued and where people proactively support each other. We are trying to promote this goal by advocating and spreading awareness through various initiatives and by providing meaningful bilingual volunteer opportunities to foster volunteerism and develop leaders to serve the needs of our community. In our presentation, we would like to give you and your company examples of ways for you to get involved so that we could have a collective positive impact on Japanese society.

Key talking Points:

  1. Social Needs - Our Focus Areas
  2. Voices of recipients and corporate partners
  3. How can you get involved?

Organization:

Hands On Tokyo was founded in 2006 with a group comprising both Japanese and foreign nationals who were committed to making volunteer activities more accessible and accelerating the growth of volunteerism in the Tokyo area.

Hands On Tokyo became a non-profit organization in 2009 and was certified by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government as an “Approved Specified Non-Profit Corporation” in 2017.

Hand on Tokyo is the only Japan-based affiliate of the Points of Light Foundation, which is one of the largest volunteer networks in the U.S. and has more than 208 affiliates in 37 countries.
