We are pleased to welcome Mr. Wakatabe Masazumi, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Japan who will be speaking to us about the future of capitalism and its implications for money and banking.
Among others, he will speak about the following issues:

Mr. Wakatabe Masazumi, Deputy Governor
Masazumi Wakatabe is the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Japan. Prior to joining in March 2018, he was a Professor of Economics at the Faculty of Political Science and Economics at Waseda University from April 2005. He also was a visiting scholar at the Center on Japanese Economy and Business at Columbia Business School from March 2017 to February 2018.
He has written extensively on economic crises such as the Great Depression and has published a book titled ‘Japan's Great Stagnation and Abenomics’.
He holds a B.A. in Economics from Waseda University and an M.A. in Economics from both Waseda University and the University of Toronto.
