BCP-DR-IT Security Information Forum

The IBA's BCP-DR-IT Security Information Forum gives operations staff, disaster recovery (DR) professionals, IT specialists and business contingency planning (BCP) specialists from member institutions the opportunity to discuss pertinent information needed to prepare adequately for disasters and their aftermath.

These meetings are always open to all staff from IBA members.

05-25-2007 NTT Network Resiliency, BCP Recommendations, and DR Solutions The IBA welcomed three representatives from NTT Communications’ Global Business Division, who discussed NTT's network resiliency and proposed solutions for ensuring optimal routing diversity.
03-08-2007 Luncheon Meeting on the Avian Influenza Virus The IBA Pandemic Working Group hosted its first meeting of 2007, welcoming back Dr. Masato Tashiro from the NIID. Dr. Tashiro described the characteristics of viral avian influenza, some of the circumstances that can lead to a jumping of the species barrier, and some of the potential outcomes in the event of a global pandemic.
01-29-2007 BCP-DR-IT Information Forum Discussion BCP professionals from IBA member firms gathered to discuss the impact of the disruption to telecommunications following the earthquake near Taiwan on December 26, 2006. Lessons learned and possible steps to mitigate future risks were shared amongst participants in an open and informative manner.
10-24-2006 Identity, Compliance and Audit: Tomorrow's Markets A leading expert shared his knowledge and experience with 17 IBA Members on IT security related issues.

		09-15-2006 BCP Update on the Financial Industry Here and Abroad A leading academic and BCP expert highlighted various important and timely BCP issues to over 23 IBA members in the middle of September.

		08-22-2006 Cabinet Office of Disaster Management Briefing on BCP A senior representative from the Cabinet Office of Disaster Management briefed this group in August. Over 50 IBA members attended this important briefing to hear the views of a leading Japanese official on the government’s future BCP policies and plans.

		07-11-2006 BOJ Briefing on Business Continuity Planning In July, the Bank of Japan briefed over 70 IBA member representatives on the importance of business continuity planning in the financial industry.

		06-08-2006 CMPO Update The IBA was pleased to have two leading disaster recovery specialists from Crisis Management & Preparedness Organization (CMPO) address this group at the next Information Forum in June.

		05-19-2006 IBA Pandemic WG Luncheon Over 33 IBA members participated in this Pandemic Working Group meeting which has been set up to study the impact of the avian influenza virus and to better prepare member banks and securities companies for an outbreak.
