OTHER SERVICES

The IBA carries out its mission in accordance with its
Articles of Association and by means of the following kinds of activities:

TRAINING, INFORMATION FORUMS AND WORKING GROUPS

Since its establishment in 1984, the IBA has arranged and hosted information forums and seminars on topics of relevance to the membership.  In 2009, the IBA offered 49 information forums, working group meetings and special events for its members. Working Groups are also formed on an ad-hoc basis to address issues that arise over the course of the year.

TRANSLATION SERVICE

The IBA offers translation services for members who lack the infrastructure needed to perform the task or who require translated clarifications of key documentation and materials. Samples of IBA translations of core materials dealing with Japanese regulations, financial industry trends and other topics can be viewed in our Translation Lists.

INFORMATION EXCHANGE

The IBA acts as a two-way clearinghouse for the exchange of ideas and information. It serves as a vehicle for placing before the Government of Japan the views of its members regarding issues affecting its businesses. Moreover, by serving as a repository of highly focused, institutional information from among its global membership, the IBA seeks to represent its membership on Japanese policy-forming committees, study groups, and working groups and to play a positive role in maximizing the Japanese market's potential.

GOVERNMENT BRIEFINGS

The IBA offers the government a comprehensive forum for briefings to the foreign financial services community. Please view the lists of events, by area of focus or year, under the Info Forums/Events tab to see the full range of government officials presenting to the IBA's membership.
