The IBA is pleased to welcome Mr. Yosuke Mori and Mr. Atsushi Yamashita from the FSA’s Supervisory Bureau to discuss the recently amended Supervisory Guidelines for (1) Major Banks and (2) Financial Instruments Firms. The new Guidelines are concerned with derivative sales and took effect immediately upon release on April 16. The new Guidelines have tightened the supervision of financial institutions, particularly with regards to strengthening customer protection. This briefing is not to be missed.
Specifically, Mr. Mori and Mr. Yamashita will comment on:
- the FSA's rationale for revising the Supervisory Guidelines; and
- the FSA's response to the public comments.
