The IBA is pleased to welcome two top economists from Standard & Poor’s.
Dr. Wyss is a Chief Economist at Standard & Poor’s, based in New York. In this position, he is responsible for S&P’s economic forecasts and publications, and co-authors the monthly Equity Insight and the weekly Financial Notes. Dr. Wyss has been named in the U.S. as one of 2009’s “100 Most Influential People in Finance” by Treasury & Risk Magazine. Dr. Gokarn is Chief Economist, Standard & Poor’s Asia Pacific. He is responsible for shaping Standard & Poor’s macroeconomic views in the Asia Pacific and expanding its research and commentary on the region’s rapidly growing economies.
Incorporating their unique global and Asian perspectives, Dr. Wyss and
Dr. Gokarn will provide views on:
- Which countries will bounce back from the recession better than others, and why?
- What industries within these economies will be the new, or re-invigorated, engines of growth?
- Where will Japan’s economy stand relative to those of India and China, post-recession and beyond? How will countries like Korea, Indonesia and Malaysia fare in post-recession Asia?
