In September 2008, Mr. Kurosawa gave a presentation to the IBA on the SESC’s Basic Inspection Policy for 2008-09. He also announced that the SESC was undertaking a major review of how it conducts inspections. Mr. Kurosawa will return to the IBA to give an overview of the results of the SESC’s inspection review project. In addition, he will discuss the SESC’s Basic Inspection Policy for 2009-10, and the proposed changes to the SESC’s Inspection Manual. The new policy was released on April 24 and is available in Japanese (English version expected soon) at:

Mr. Kurosawa is responsible for the administration of the SESC’s inspection program for registered financial entities, including securities firms, investment funds, fund managers, securities exchanges and SROs. His core expertise is in the field of financial regulation for banks and securities markets, including the administration of the FSA’s onsite inspection programs. Most recently, as the FSA’s Director for International Financial Markets, he played a key role in formulating Japanese policy on securities regulations and accounting/audit issues in an international context, including IOSCO, IFIAR, and IFAC.
