We are pleased to welcome back the Bank of Japan’s Financial System and Bank Examination Department, which gave a presentation to the IBA in June 2007. This seminar will be of particular interest to compliance, BCP, operations and internal audit staff.


BOJ'S ON-SITE EXAMINATION POLICY FOR FISCAL 2008
Mr. Shuichi Uemura, Deputy Director-General and Principal Examiner of the Financial Systems and Bank Examination Department, will focus on the following:

· Core elements of the BOJ’s on-site examinations for fiscal 2008; and

· Risk-based on-site examinations under strengthened arrangements with off-site monitoring.


BUSINESS CONTINUITY MANAGEMENT AT FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS IN JAPAN
From the Examination of BCP/BCM Unit, Mr. Haruhisa Oyama, Director, and Mr. Toru Saito, Deputy Director, will discuss the examiners’ viewpoints and observed leading practices of BCP management at financial institutions.
