This full day course is designed for employees of foreign banks who require an introduction to the legal, regulatory and compliance framework for foreign banks in Japan.
A test version of the same course was organized for IBA member banks on August 3. Of the 29 people who filled out the evaluation, 97% said they would recommend this course and 53% said they learned more than they expected.
Mr. Uchida worked for more than 20 years in Tokyo and New York with the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, where he established the head office’s compliance department in 1998-2000. After leaving the bank, he worked in Tokyo for Anderson TLBA (as a Director) and KPMG Business Assurance Co., Ltd (as COO for LRM Division). In 2003 he established his own company, MDP Business Advisory, which is the successor company to KPMG Legal Japan. Mr. Uchida has been Editor in Chief of the Compliance Officers’ Examination Textbook issued by the Japanese Regional Bankers Association since 2005. He is registered as an attorney in New York State.
