Mr. Umezawa will discuss the following topics:

Mr. Umezawa is a recognized expert on the FSA’s Financial Inspection Manual and on customer protection issues. This training should be of particular interest to bank compliance officers and back office staff and should not be missed.


Mr. Taku Umezawa joined the law office of Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu in 1999 and is an Attorney-at-Law and Senior Associate. He has advised many domestic and foreign financial institutions on regulatory issues. From 2005 to 2007, he was seconded to the Financial Services Agency’s Inspection Bureau, where he engaged in drafting the revised Financial Inspection Manual for banks, trust banks, and insurance companies. He also wrote articles for several publications on regulatory issues including the Financial Instruments and Exchange Law, the revised Financial Inspection Manual, and others topics. Mr. Umezawa holds a BA in Law from the University of Tokyo and a LLM from University of Pennsylvania Law School.
