The International Bankers Association Privacy Policy

 

In order to comply with the existing Japanese privacy laws, the following explanation outlines how the International Bankers Association (IBA) collects and uses the personal identifiable data we receive.
 
First and foremost, the IBA serves as the clearinghouse for the exchange of ideas and information for our members. By seeking to foster and promote cooperation among IBA members, the sharing of information and members' resources has always been a vital part of the IBA mandate to order to better represent the views of our members.


 

1. The IBA Collects the Following IBA Member Information

 

In the course of your dealings with the IBA, you may be asked to provide us with the following personal identifiable information, including:

1) your first name, middle name, surname;
2) company name;
3) workplace address;
4) telephone and facsimile numbers;
5) email address;
6) job title and function;
7) department;
8) business unit and location;
9) other information required for billing and payment.

If you contact us by email, telephone, facsimile, or post, we may also keep a record of your contact information and correspondence.

 

 

2. How the IBA Uses This Personal Information

 

In order to keep accurate IBA membership records, we regularly request the staff of IBA members to notify us of  any changes to their contact details, their job title, the announcement of their successor, etc. Other requirements for personal identifiable information are for our accounting activities, such as billing and payment; corresponding with IBA members regarding billing and payment issues; membership and membership renewals, etc.; and responses to inquiries from our IBA members.

 

When staff of IBA members sign up for regular IBA information forums or training events (either online or by fax), their names and respective firms will be included on our internal attendance lists.

 

For both staff of IBA members and potential IBA members who access our webpage and sign up online for further IBA information, a record will be kept at the IBA containing their personal information which may be used in the future for future correspondence.

 

 

3. Deleting Personal Information; Handling of Complaints

4. Security

 

The IBA will take the appropriate legal, organizational, and technical measures to protect all personal information, consistent with applicable law regarding the protection of personal information.

The IBA will review and improve our handling of personal information on an on-going basis. Our most current privacy policy will always be posted on this link, so please review its terms regularly.
