This seminar on the new Financial Instruments and Exchange Law (FIEL) is targeted at all staff needing a basic understanding of the law. It emphasizes transactions with professional investors and the conduct rules regarding sales solicitation.

This is the English version of the same presentation which Ikenaga Sensei gave to the IBA’s membership on September 6. That seminar was attended by more than 70 people from 30 member firms. Of the 62 people who filled out the evaluation, 97% said they would recommend this course.

As the former General Counsel of a major foreign financial conglomerate in Japan, Ikenaga Sensei specializes in the fields of regulatory issues, regulatory investigation and inspection, international finance and securitization, compliance and corporate governance matters. He has a great deal of experience in dealing with the Financial Services Agency and other regulatory bodies and providing advice on such laws and regulations as the Securities Exchange Law and the Banking Law. His practice also includes general corporate matters with an emphasis on M&A. He is a member of the bar in Japan, New York and Michigan.
