JAPANESE LABOR LAW REVISIONS

Guest Speaker: Mr. Masakazu Suzuki, Chief Executive Officer, Personnel Management Professionals (PMP)
1. Day Care Planning (次世代育成支援対策推進法): Effective from April 2005, companies with more than 301 staff members are required to draw up plans to assist their staff with childcare programs and register these programs at the labor standards office.
2. Revising the Family and Child Act
3. Personal Data Protection Law (個人情報保護法)
4. Extension of Employment Age (高年齢者等の雇用安定等に関する法律): Companies will be required to gradually extend the retirement age. In 2006, the age will move to 62 years and 63 years by 2007 and so on.
5. Other Issues
