Mr. Yasuhiko Wake is a Senior Foreign Exchange Examiner in the Office of Foreign Exchange Examiners, International Bureau of the Ministry of Finance (MOF). He has extensive experience in conducting MOF foreign exchange examinations and shared his unique insight with IBA members, discussing some of the key elements that comprise foreign exchange examinations. His talk addressed the following issues:

• An overview of foreign exchange examinations
• Comparisons between FSA financial inspections and MOF foreign exchange examinations
• How foreign exchange examinations are implemented and the examination results
• Future directions of foreign exchange examinations
