IT SECURITY UPDATE
This presentation was conducted in English.
Guest Speaker: Mr. Robert Veres, Group Manager, Security Group, Datacraft Japan
IT security is an extremely fluid and dynamic field. Recent incidents of stolen personal data (“phishing” and “skimming”) and lost customer information in Japan and abroad have highlighted the need to improve global IT security measures.
Robert Veres spoke on the developments in the IT security world, and specifically addressed the following topics:
1. IT security predictions from the past: last year's predictions and what actually happened
2. An outlook for the next 12 months
3. Japanese Personal Data Protection Law:
a) What the FSA has imposed on financial institutions
b) Challenges from the field
c) How organizations are addressing this challenge
d) Some considerations for the future
Robert Veres has spent his entire professional career in the field of IT security. He has been a frequent presenter to the IBA's BCP-DR-IT Security Information Forum since 2001.
